Guests are invited to enjoy a warm reception with small bites and beverages, followed by the screening of the documentary Comment naît un livre ?, presented in French with English subtitles. Priscillia Leal Torres will then introduce a physical copy of Pouvoirs du livre, highlighting the diverse elements and resources involved in the creation of an artist’s book. The event will conclude with a Q&A session.

Inge Bruggeman, Director of The CODEX Foundation in Berkeley, will give a brief introduction in English about the CODEX x International Biennial Book Art Fair & Symposium (February 7-10, 2026) and introduce Priscillia Leal Torres who will give her presentation in French with an English translator, so the event will be bilingual.

Priscillia Leal Torres, Director of éditions Leal Torres in France, will give a presentation about her work creating exceptional limited edition works. Her artist's books are artistic, poetic, and literary experiences that allow words and images to echo one another in conversation in breathtaking works of visual art and artisanry. Her presentation will be followed by a display of work for attendees to engage with at the end of the presentation which will include a fascinating video of her latest publication.

The éditions Leal Torres creates limited edition books which are connected to the livre d’artiste tradition developed in France during the late 19^th and 20^th centuries, however Priscillia Leal Torres takes her productions in new contemporary directions, often collaborating with the Atelier du Livre d’art et de l’Estampe de l’Imprimerie Nationale.
