TCF Exam Policies

When can I register ?

Registrations are open until midnight, 9 days before the exam date (unless otherwise posted) or until all spots are filled.

To satisfy with the new regulations regarding enrollment for TCF exams, as of January 2026, a valid passport is required at the time of registration. It is the candidate's responsibility to make sure they have a passport valid  until after the date of the exam. No refund will be given. The requirement is for all TCF exams. Only a valid passport will be accepted. Other photo IDs. DO NOT QUALIFY. If your passport is lost or expired, you will need to reschedule your exam for a later date with availability and pay for the administrative fee.  No exception. 

TCF Cancellations / refunds / Rescheduling

**Please read carefully, as our policy has recently changed for 2026.

Up to 21 days prior to your exam, you can reschedule your exam for another date or receive AFSF credit with no penalty, or receive a refund back to your card minus a $60 administrative fee. AFSF credit will expire 1 year after date of issue if not used.

From 21 days up to 8 days before your exam, you can reschedule your exam for another date or receive AFSF credit minus a $60 administrative fee. No refunds will be allowed. AFSF credit will expire 1 year after date of issue if not used.

Within 8 days of your exam, you are locked into your exam. No changes will be allowed. 

If your exam date is canceled by AFSF and only in this case - Rescheduling, credit, and refunds will be offered with no penalty.
 

How/When  will I receive my results ? 

For TCF exam,  the certificate is now electronic and will be emailed to you. It takes about 2 weeks after the exam to receive the results. 

Registration and fees

Your registration is not confirmed until we receive your payment.
Exam fees are not refundable.

There is no registration fee for the TCF Exams. AFSF membership is not required to sit in an exam but always encouraged. 

TIME DELAY BETWEEN TWO REGISTRATIONS

In case of insufficient results, you can reapply for the TCF . However, you will have to wait one month between each TCF test, regardless of the version concerned.

Declaration by the candidate 

DECLARATION BY CANDIDATE - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING UP for an exam

1. I understand that the fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to a future examination session.

2. It is the candidate’s responsibility to check that their names and details are correct on the confirmation of enrollment, as they appear on their passport. The same details will appear on the attestation.

3. Once set, the schedule of oral examination dates and times may not be altered.

4. Candidates should arrive at the time indicated on the notification of examination timetable, which they will be receiving by email 7 days before the exam date, and wait in the library after having checked in at the reception desk until the teacher or the coordinator drive them to the examination class. Late arrivals will NOT be accommodated

5. There may be a long gap between a candidate’s written and oral examinations. I understand that my oral examination will be recorded as it is required for double examination.

6. Candidates will be required to bring official a valid passport. A valid passport is required at the time of registration. If your passport is lost or expired, you will need to reschedule your exam for a later date with availability and pay for the administrative fee.  No exception.
Failure to present the original passport on the day of the exam  will deny candidates access to the examination room without refund. Passport copies and other IDs will not be accepted. 

7. Results are due 2  weeks after the examination day, it may take longer during the summer break. Candidates will be informed by email when we will receive the results. No scores will be given by email or phone to candidates.

8.  A registration is only complete once you have paid the exam fee.

9. There must be a delay of 25 days between each attempt and you may not take another TCF exam before that time window has passed.

10. I understand that exam dates may be subject to alterations or cancellations in cases of insufficient number of candidates and/or unforeseen circumstances.


By enrolling in the TCF exam exam,  I agree to be bound by the terms and conditions for the TCF examinations at AFSF.
